Hello techiesupport, and welcome to Ten Forums. :)

Here are a few things in the tutorial on the first page to make sure of:

    1. Temporarily disable secure boot and fast boot in your UEFI firmware settings until Windows is finished installing.

    2. Use a UEFI Windows 10 installation USB.

    3. During Windows setup at step 13, be sure to delete all partitions on the disk until it's "unallocated", then select the "unallocated" disk to install Windows on.

Thank you for the quick response Brink. I have tried everything you have mentioned there.

If it helps, the step where the installation always crashes is the "Getting files ready for installation" one. I've tried both upgrading from an older OS and a clean install, none of them worked.

Not really, it simply black screens and restarts the computer like nothing ever happened.

Hey Brink, I have an inquiry regarding the second suggestion:
I always perform a clean install on an un-allocated SSD. When I press F11 to bring up the boot menu, as I'm used to do it on my motherboard, on the appearing Menu my USB stick appears twice. I own a Transcend usb stick. So, after I create the bootable media with Rufus, it shows in the Menu: Transcend 32GB and UEFI Transcend 32GB. Or something like that, but I am SURE about the word "UEFI".

I never select UEFI. I always select the other appearance of my thumb drive in the boot menu, and I install Win 10 Pro from there. I have never faced any issue in any of my clean installations, and I have performed dozens of them!

    - So, is my method wrong? S
    - Should I select to install the "UEFI" usb? And if so, why?

Thank you and my apologies for my English on this post............

    Hello Joanne, :)

I would recommend to select the UEFI USB option to make sure that you're installing Windows 10 with UEFI. Otherwise, you may be installing Windows 10 using legacy BIOS instead.

You can use the tutorial below to check if your current installation is showing as UEFI or Legacy BIOS though.

If you like, you could try installing Windows 10 without UEFI to see if it may install without issue.

Already tried that several times, same thing happens. I never had something like this happening to me so I'm just clueless on what else I can do.

I must admit that I'm not sure why either unless there's some sort of hardware incompatibility causing this.

Right? The thing is there shouldn't be because the laptop was literally ADVERSTISED as windows 10 compatible.

OMG, ahaha, I've just checked and my installation is showing as Legacy BIOS! And actually all of them so far have been the same because during the boot I have never selected that "UEFI USB option...........

Well.... I didn't have any issue so far... With one word, Brink, am I losing much if I keep installing Win 10 using legacy BIOS?

And most importantly, on my next installation in which I will choose UEFI , do I have to do something different when I will be burning the image from the ISO, using Rufus?

    Thank you.
