I LOVE your info and reg scripts. I don't know where I would be without them. I would do a bowing thingy if I knew how to do those. LOL! GIF, I guess it is? Anyway... I just ran across a problem I hope you can help with. I am getting this when I try to open these 2 jpg files... "Windows Photo Viewer can't open this picture because either Photo Viewer doesn't support this file format, or you don't have the latest updates to Photo Viewer".
That file type is set with the viewer as default, per your awesome reg script. But, now I can't find any updates anywhere.
I have a feeling it's my windows 10 fighting back at me because I don't deal with their crap. I usually find a way around their BS. Mostly with your help. Thank you! You are like a God to me, I swear. But just in case I am missing an actual update that's somewhere out there, I figured I'd ask.
Thanks again for everything! I am so not kidding when I say what I say. If I understood certain things a little better, I know I'd be using many more than I do, now. Do you have a list of all of your life saving scripts? Or a dumbed down version of what they all do? I'm not a complete idiot. I've programmed and built computers before. But years ago. I started on a TRS-80, if that gives you any clue. LOL!
Thank you again, and again, and again! (Infinity)
Sorry if I posted this wrong. I don't usually get involved with these things. I just read them, usually. =/

Hello BkAngel, and welcome to Ten Forums. :)

Where did the .jpg files come from? It may be an issue with the format they were created or saved by.

As a test, do you have the same issue when trying to open a .jpg in the folder below included with Windows 10?

    C:\Windows\Web\Wallpaper\Windows 10

I don't understand what you're asking. They are screen shots. Never mind. I'll just burn this brand new machine and go hide in a cave somewhere. =(

I was asking if you had the same issue when opening an included .jpg file from inside the folder above to see if it may just be an issue with your .jpg file or all .jpg files.

I used your beautiful tutorial to find and import Windows Photo Viewer, and it shows up when I list the apps, but it isn't available to use. Any further suggestions?

What I really want is to load Windows Live photo Gallery which is what I used in Win7, but I can't even find it at Microsoft's site.

    Hello Kitist02, :)

Please provide more details about what you mean for Windows Photo Viewer not available to use.

If you have made Windows Photo Viewer the default app, you should be able to open any image file to have it open with Windows Photo Viewer by default.

I'm afraid that all the Windows Essentials programs like Windows Live Photo Gallery will reach end of support on January 10th 2017. The link below includes a download link for it to help.
