    Is AOMEI BackUpperFull.exe safe?

I recently had my PC technician over to try to backup my pc.

He went and got a program called Aomei Backupper. On the site it strangely had the option to download from Cnet so he did.

In the end it wasn't to our liking cause it was limited in what it could do so we uninstalled it.

Later on after a bit of research there are two versions of the same product.

Theres one on the actual site of the company known as: http://www.aomeitech.com/

And there is a product specific site called: http://www.backup-utility.com/download.html

The second one was the version that my pc technician used and he went through the Cnet link to get an exe file called: backupperfull.exe

I was wondering if the second site is a sleezy offshoot domain that lures people to cnet and other freeware site versions of the software in an attempt to to give pups?

Secondly I'd like to know if backupperfull.exe contains any viruses or bundles.

Several people say that the versions they get are ok but if there are multiple sources of receiving them, then maybe we accidentally got a bad version.

As of now I have gone to a restore point before in/uninstallation and made sure any traces of interacting with the site were gone. But for peace of mine I need to know if my pc was in any danger.

Why not download the software direct from the developer's website then you can be sure.

But that wasn't where it was downloaded. I need to know the version that entered my computer was safe.

Windows defender. I took the exe to virus total and it appears to turn up clean.

Then I'm sure it is. VIrusTotal uses multiple engines.
