There are quite a few serviceable freeware burning programs for Windows. These include ImgBurn, CDBurnerXP, BurnAware, and Ashampoo BurningStudio Free.
Don't know of any direct equivalent to K3b; but from the status window in your screen capture it looks like K3b is not doing a direct copy but ripping to ISO and then burning the ISO to the destination disk. You should be able to get the same end result in a disc copy, in 2 passes, using the "create image" and "burn image" functions of one of the above.
Be warned that many downloads of ImgBurn contain an installer that bundles unwanted extras which borderline on malware; look for a portable version instead.
Hi there
Thanks
actually the K3b software optionally gives you choice between making an image (I wanted that for installing a VM) and burning to another Disc.
It also when creating AUDIO CD's can get track info from the various music DB's so is a good way of tagging Audio - without actually creating a physical CD. !! It can also create DVD's - although I never use physical DVD's these days - just rip them if I ever get any.
I'll try the others --I agree though a lot of these Windows downloads have loads of confusing links and to actually get the download you want without any added installers / mal / bloat / ad ware is quite tough.
Cheers
