    Weather App

So the weather app in W10 preview is an updated version that is somewhat half broke. I figured out how to get the old version.

Open PowerShell as an administrator and enter

    Code:
    Get-AppxPackage -Name Microsoft.BingWeather | Remove-AppxPackage
Then go to the green store and download the MSN Weather app and it works just like the W8.1 version

I'm trying to get this to work for the sports app for a friend. Anyone had luck getting the 8 app version for sports to load in W10?

After another clean install, this apparently no longer works with the weather app now.

Have you tried re-registering all apps?

You might also try going to the Store (beta) and signing in.
Right click your user icon (the standard 'guest' shows for me)
There is a check for updates in Settings AND in Downloads - neither seem to do anything for me.
The Library seems to be the best place to look.

This Store is such a piece of work.

Eventually you get a list of apps that need to be updated.
I don't know if this occurred because I did click check for updates (Settings and Downloads) or if it just takes a while for the Store to cycle though what's on my machine (there are that many apps!)

Anyway, Store is one of the apps and after updating it ... 'crash' (probably just an app shut down, not really a crash) - you have to go back and update the rest.

Consider this: update the Store first

You'll need the location platform turned on as well.

That's all I can think of suggesting - you probably tried the other standards (sync licenses, DISM, SFC, WSreset ....)
Oh and the sure fired way MS recommends? Uninstall the app - not so sure fired, but worth a shot as a last ditch effort.

    Good luck Dude

Thanks Bill. The store is working fine. I had a workaround to install the older version of the weather app. It doesn't seem to work now, the newer version gets installed.

    My Weather App doesn't work.
Always shows same temp and doesn't refresh, and there doesn't seem to be a way to manually refresh it either.

Naw! Didn't work. I'll run the Power Shell scripts and the WSReset and see what happens.

@ Edwin with build 10122, I went to the Beta store and updated my apps. The new weather version now works. I still prefer how it used to look, at least it works now. It shows updates available where I put the red square in this pic

    Edwin,

If Dudes suggestion to update doesn't work (oh yeah, the Store (beta) update has changed a bit - check the options under your ID icon - it's still a bit wonky, but Deownloads (check for updates) or My Library seem promising) , I've had success by uninstalling and reinstalling an app (Excel preview is brain dead unless you update it - can't change an exiting spreadsheet after a clean install of Windows).

Sometimes, I'll just wipe the slate clean of all MS apps (the ones I can uninstall anyway) and reinstall the ones I want.

There is always the WSreset and the re-register apps routes, but uninstall / reinstall seems to be the most consistent ... for now while MS is changing the apps and the store.
