    Cant install Office 16

    Hi
Just got new laptop with windows 10 and when I try and install office 16 it comes up with messages shown in tyre.png. The file is an exe file as in 2nd attachment. The exe file will download the actual office software from Microsoft itself.

    Thanks

    Hello and welcome:

Each computer is unique, of course. But I recently replaced the OEM Office 365 Trial version on my new Win10 system with MS Office 2016 Pro Plus without a hiccup.

Just a hunch: Is there any chance you are trying to install the 64-bit version of Office 2016 on a 32-bit system?

One can install 32-bit Office on a 64-bit computer and (except for folks who work with GIANT spreadsheets, etc.) it's probably preferred and less "buggy" than 64-bit Office.

But one cannot do it the other way around -- one cannot install 64-bit Office on a 32-bit computer.

Another question: where did you get the Office 2016 download link and activation code?

    Thanks,
    MM

    Hi

yes its its 32 office on 64 windows 10.

The software is thru my work so its all legit. You download a small file and double click which installs the software. Ive done it on 2 other laptops recently which went fine tho they were windows 7.

Well, so much for that idea.

I went through a similar process through my employer, after cleanly uninstalling the OEM Office 365 package, deleting remaining folders and rebooting:
I paid for the "redemption code" at work > went to the special link to redeem it and to download the "stub" installer > installed the full MS Office 2016 Suite > activated with the activation key. No muss, no fuss.

Until someone more expert comes along, these sorts of software broker services usually have both email and phone support options. You might try that?

EDIT: If this is a work/school-owned computer, is there a chance they could be blocking software installation by the end user?

    Sorry I could not help,
