    Bitmeter2 .net runtime library is not installed, do you want to instal

    Bitmeter2 installation:
    When trying to install bitmeter2 I get this error message:

    .net runtime library is not installed, do you want to install it?

    If I say YES it directs me to a website that gives me an error message. So I go directly to Microsoft .net download site and it tells me that .net is already installed. If I say NO it aborts installation.

    I have Bitmeter running on other Windows 10 computers but they were upgrades and this is a clean install.

    (Only use codebox.net/ to download, others may contain crapware.)

    Partially solved. I screwed up and downloaded some PUP/crapware (Instant Support) when downloading Firefox. The only good thing about that was it said I had an app that needed additional files. It then proceeded to download the files which happened to be older Microsoft .net Framework files. Apparently Bitmeter looks for specific older .net files (2.0 maybe). It works when it finds those files.

    Could someone help me find those files and tell me where to put them?

    When setting up another computer I dug into this some more and found the answer, for anyone who might be wanting to run Bitmeter2. I uncheck Float and place it in the lower right corner of my desktop, and set transparency to 70%.

    The problem with running the setup was that in windows 10 .net framework does not load v1.1. Bitmeter2 requires it.

    The solution is to search for: dotnetfx v1.1 which takes you to;

    Download Microsoft .NET Framework Version 1.1 Redistributable Package from Official Microsoft Download Center

    Download it and install, reboot and run the bitmeter2 setup.
