I would be very surprised if this is true. According to EULA you get a single user licence and you may only have it on one hard disk at a time which is a fairly normal restriction. I see nothing in the EULA to suggest it is a once use only tool.

There is a trial version which may well be timebombed.

What evidence is there to support this statement?
I recently purchased the product and used it to transfer my settings and apps across a reset of my Windows 10 system.
After the restore I encountered some issues so I decided that since I still had the recovery file available I would do a fresh install of Windows 10 and use PCMover Pro to drop the settings and apps onto the fresh system.
HOWEVER when I tried to perform the recovery I received a message informing me that my registered serial number had no more licences.
I am at the moment embroiled in a dispute with Laplink over this matter. So far the only concession I have gained is that I was granted another licence so that I could recover my system.
Unfortunately I have since experienced various problems with my system and have now restored my system to its condition prior to my adventures with Laplink PCMover Pro.
So my comment about a pretty good job seems to have be somewhat premature.
Hopefully PayPal can winkle a refund out of Laplink.
In the meantime I will think about performing another fresh install and rebuilding my system manually.

    IBM = It's better manually.

Actually I have used Easeus PCTrans and it worked fairly well.

I guess instead of getting upset, you should

HAL (one step in front of IBM)

    i.e Have A Laugh .

I'm not upset, just out of pocket to the tune of NZ$45.
Mind you, being a Scot, it would fit the stereotype if I were upset.

If you were stereotypically from Aberdeen, you would be slitting your wrists of course! Was just joking of course - I assume you got the classic HAL reference?

If your client can not find the re-install disks for his application and the version he is using is no longer being available - then PC transfer software is worth it. Especially if your client no longer has the install disk for his printer. Often drivers that we download for a older but good laser printer will be fraught with problems or wont work at all. Not sure how I would manually capture a printer driver and move it to another PC. I had one client complain that I did not have the lap link cables that he was used to seeing. "What no link cables" ? He had been through this many times. When I tried to copy my documents to be sure to get all the files it still did not have all the files copied after 16 hours. So that did not go well. I need to find out what files are being used and only copy them. I talked this client in putting his data on a second drive - He did not like that much but he will never have this problem of moving his data to a new system again if he saves everything on his D Drive. In 4 years when he wants to update we only need to move his ssd drive to a new system.

Is it possible that, like some software I've had in the past, this PCMover requires an uninstallation to be performed whilst online so that their central record of the number of installations is kept up to date so that, in turn, a fresh installation gets seen as a replacement for the first installation rather than an additional installation?
