How to report programs that no longer work on Windows 10

How do I report a program that no longer works on Windows 10? Do I use Windows Feedback? The program I am having problems with is Hauppauge Capture which allows me to transfer HD shows from my DVR to my PC. This program worked fine on Windows 7 and 8.1 and it worked on Windows 10 until 9926 was released. Prior to 9926 the program would allow me to capture a show from my DVR to my PC but Windows 10 would crash when I tried to shut the program down. On 9926 and now 10041, the program starts up but none of the buttons do anything and the only way to get rid of it is to cancel it through task manager.

You can use the Feedback app to report the issue
and you can also report it on the Insider forums
Windows Insider Program - Microsoft Community

I think the feedback app is THE place to report issues though.

The forum does provide for replies from other members, so there might be a solution or a workaround.

Your choice, one, or the other, or both!

The Hauppauge Capture program has worked good on my computer since build 9926. Have you tried uninstalling the software with the Hauppauge uninstaller and reinstalling?

Before reporting it, try completely uninstalling the program, reboot, run ccleaner, then install and reboot again. I have to say from my own experience, Hauppauge are bad at updating their software.

OK, I did all that but Hauppauge still hangs up. Once I installed Hauppauge Capture, it defaults the inputs to the Composite inputs. At that point the program is still responding to button pushes and scrolling the menus. Once I change the input to Component where the HD signal is, Hauppauge Capture hangs up and cannot even be cancelled unless I go into task manager and cancel it from there.

If I then power down the Hauppauge 1212 and connect it to a Windows 8.1 system, everything works great.

By the way, Windows 10 version 10041 was much slower to boot up than version 9926 until I ran ccleaner. Now it is much faster than 9926.

Did you uninstall just the capture program? You may have to uninstall the software and hardware so you can start over. Hauppauge has a uninstall program on their website.

Yes, I uninstalled it, did a reboot, ran cclean, did a reboot, then installed the Hauppauge Capture program.

The only other thing I can suggest is to try HCWClear if you haven't tried it yet. Click on the utilities tab. Support for HD PVR

I tried that before, but I did it again and this time it worked. The last time I uninstalled Hauppauge Capture using Windows 10 uninstall. Then I ran HCWClear. This time I did not uninstall the program with Windows but just ran HCWClear, reboot, CCleaner, Reboot, Install Hauppauge Capture and all is well now.
    Thanks for the suggestion.

Glad you got it working. I was having the blue screen crash problem with the second and third release of Windows 10.
