Thanks.. a quick trial suggests it's pretty good.. note the Spanish misses the plural though.

Offline packs available (said to be not as accurate as online)
The voices (other than US for English even with English UK dialect chosen!) - are convincing.

And I like the pinyin with the Chinese translation whose rendering of the tenses is so fundamentally different, whereas they are so much more recognisable in those European languages.
Unfortunately it doesn't offer pinyin-> English

However, copy and paste isn't available- I had to use Abbyy's screenshot reader, which won't cope with the Chinese (probably would if I configured it).

    This is a tad disconcerting:

    = I ate a bowl.

    Perhaps it was anticipating (e.g.)
    'I ate a bowl of noodles' ?
Or maybe it's trying to explain the disappearance of the bowl?

    Hi there

Not very good for Icelandic -- though I'm sure demand for that is probably just higher than that for a Chocolate Teapot in a transport restaurant.

    Cheers

Thanks, didn't even know about this app. Not much of a languages man, I can barely muster my native tongue but it sounds a cool app to have so just downloaded it. Maybe it'll help with my children's homework when they start learning languages!

Accuracy is much better where languages have more closely related roots. E.g. English/Spanish.

But English / Chinese is, well, rather unpredictable e.g.

One way to check (sort of) is to
    a. Translate sentence x from English to target.
    b. Translate the result back to English.
    c. Compare that to the original x.
If you've got 'manglish' not English, you probably can't trust the translated version.

*** Just discovered a feature! (You probably knew anyway...)
    - you can click the camera icon and then just hold a document up to the camera, and it will translate the document.
