    Yes there is even a way to add the rescue to your boot menu. If you do that you do not need a boot disk. This maybe only available on the paid version, I don't know. I made another boot disk and it worked this time. Just got an Email from MR thanking me for the ticket I sent them.
    You still need a boot disc! The boot menu recovery gets stored on your boot (C: drive, so if your boot drive fails and you don't have a recovery disc/USB, you are SOL

    Well I see this has already been mentioned.

    I do like the Windows 10 PE though. I did a recovery using it and it is pretty fast..

    I don't think so... It's a boot option as in dual boot If you can't boot to windows, or purposely crash the boot process 3 times in a row, Macriums boot option will kick in .

    The boot software is installed in C:\boot\macrium. If your C: drive is dead or corrupt you will not be able to boot to macrium. Below is the BCD entry. It loads the wim from the c drive into a ramdisk.

    Windows Boot Loader

    device ramdisk=[C:]\boot\macrium\WA10KFiles\media\sources\boot.wim,{ramdiskoptions}
    path \windows\system32\boot\winload.efi
    description Macrium Reflect System Recovery
    osdevice ramdisk=[C:]\boot\macrium\WA10KFiles\media\sources\boot.wim,{ramdiskoptions}
    systemroot \Windows
    nx OptIn
    detecthal Yes
    winpe Yes

    If the HD/SSD fails that has the [C] partition, then the Macrium Boot option won't work.
    That's one reason why a bootable Macrium Rescue disc (CD/USB stick) should always be created and tested.

    I never had a boot process crash 3 times in a row, so i don't know if Macrium automatically kicks in.
    That's interesting though.

    This is exactly why I have it on USB flashdrive. And my backup image is on external hard drive. If I messed up my main drive, I will overwrite it with backup image. It won't help in terms of SSD speed if your backup image is outside the SSD (on external USB drive). You are still limited to USB speeds.

    I would assume then, if you have your images are installed on a internal 2nd hard drive not on an usb external drive, that Macrium could still access your 2nd internal drive to repair your C-drive. Right???

    Yes of course. It's a separate drive. :)

    Using a boot disk yes it can. I have done it that way, but I have my images stored on an external E-Sata Drive.
