Sorry all, I just want to be totally clear. I have a macrium image from last week. I only tend to do them monthly as its a bit of a pain getting the USB hard drive out, feeding it round back to plug in external power etc etc.

anyway, that image would of been taken using older macrium than this latest version. So, if I now update macrium, recreate bootable rescue on USB stick would I still be able to restore that image from last week if something went wrong? Or would it cry foul because the image was made on an older macrium version. I will do an updated image soon but until I do I hope my image is still good to use even with the newer macrium / new bootable USB.

kind of hard to explain. But I hope that makes sense

    cheers

Just few days ago I restored a 2 year old W7 + Linux backup using latest rescue disk so I don't think age is a factor.

Hope that is all the bugs squashed!

I have redone all my schedules and it seems to be OK now. For quite some while I wasn't getting notifications of updates starting but that seems to have been fixed.

I seem to be using seem a lot!!

I only have one schedule, and it's set to the 3rd Saturday in the month.
It's my schedule, from the Win7 & Win8 days, that gave a couple of weeks, to see how that months Patch Tuesday's updates played out, and made an image before the next Patch Tuesday.
I generally make an image manually, when I have had drivers update, or a bunch of my 3rd party stuff updated, or made some important changes to my system setup.

So for me this temporarily problem, was a non-problem really.
