Take note that you can resize this partition as you describe "on the fly" as part of setting up the clone in MR (I'm guessing here that your 25 GB partition FR partition you want to keep is already at the end of your source disk and that's where you want it to be on your target disk).

More details on that here: http://knowledgebase.macrium.com/dis...Cloning+a+disk

It's actually the other way around when I look at Windows Disk Management, the 25GB FR is before the C: which is followed by the D: partition. Is there anyway to view what's actually in this 25GB FR partition?

There are probably utilities out there to do that with but I would have to google for them same as you unless another member pipes up with a suggestion. The reason I haven't googled that is that MY way would be to pull up an image already made with MR and explore that partition by mounting it from the image in MR - you can look at it all, open individual files with other programs and copy them out of the image to another location (i.e., selectively restore) - so no need for me other than MR itself - I've used it to explore things like EFI and recovery partitions.

Ah yes, don't know why I didn't remember that as I have that also - I guess I go to the MR images first because of the further functionality given by actually mounting the partition as a drive in Windows.

Thanks, just tried MiniTool Partition Wizard 9.1 that I already had installed, right click on the partition and explore showed everything.

Your turning into a MR geek Master!!! I love MR too, but you use its features better than me.

LOL - geek of all, but Master of none! I think I've only used MR a month or two more than you, OldMike. My familiarity with that feature comes more from the same capability in Image for Windows (Terabyte Software), which I've used for many years.

Forgot to ask, does MR support hot imaging which is cloning while booted into Windows?
