Advanced INF Installer error message when PC is idle

    Hi All

This issue is happening on a work PC that I've just upgraded to windows 10. It was not happening beforehand. Whenever the PC is idle for too long the following error message appears:

    Advanced INF Installer

Error unregistering the ocx c:\Program Files\Lizardtech\Lizardtech Djvu Control\DjVuCnt.dll

Once the user presses a key or moves the mouse the message dissapears.

I've checked program files for the file but it wasn't showing up even when I selected the hidden files option.

I have tried uninstalling the program (Which is not used anymore anyway) but the error persists.

I have also tried using the system file checker command sfc /scannow and the result was "Windows Resource Protection did not find any integrity violations."

    Any ideas would be appreciated.

It seems related to DejaVu (viewer or whatever). Make a backup of registry (restore point) and try using a MILD registry cleaner like Piriform's Crap Cleaner.

I've tried Ccleaner and cleaned the registry but it hasn't changed anything.

You could use Regscanner or similar to manually search for keys in the registry (but make a backup first).

If you wish. Download: RegDllView - Register dll/ocx/exe utility
will allow you to manually delete the entry from Registry for the the dll that is no longer existed.
NOTE: Read the "Description" and "Tips for using RegDllView" on the webpage for more info.

Possible success: Waiting to see result

Okay so here's what I've tried:

    • Searched regdllview for Djvu
    • Found entry for C:\Program Files\Cuminas\Document Express DjVu Plug-in\DjvuCntl.dll
    • Recreated file tree for C:\Program Files\LizardTech\LizardTech DjVu Control
    • Copied DjvuCntl.dll to lizardtech directory
    • Renamed DjvuCntl.dll to DjvuCnt.dll
    • From elevated command prompt ran the command "regsvr32 /u djvucnt.dll"
    • Displayed success dialog box

Hopefully this will prevent the popup, I will update with more information
