    photos

My Picasa has disappeared and I now have a system - Microsoft photos 2015 - . Where do I find out how to use it?
Some, but not all of my photos are there and I can find no way to import from a memory stick - an "import" instruction does not seem to exist.
    HELP!!

    Why not reinstall Picasa ?
Photos app is the rudimentary program. No where near the sophistication as Picasa.
    Don't waste time with Photos.

hello ,I don't use Microsoft photo ,but I installed to see how it worked ,and I think you can add the thumbdrive as a source quite easily see attached photo and follow the 1-2-3 steps I did to get it to see the photos ... but I think to impost them you might have to just use file explorer and drag and drop the pictures from the thumb drive to the picture folder ,located here ,C:\Users\your user name \pictures.

good luck ,any questions just ask.

edit-- settings is not in the #1 location ,its clearly at the bottom of the left column

Might give IrfanView or GIMP a try. IMO I don't care for the new Photos system in Win10, keep going back to Windows Photo Viewer.

As for the pictures on removable devices, use File Explorer and open the drive in question, locate the pictures and Copy or drag the images to the Pictures Folder, either in Libraries or in your User name, they are the same place.

From Google "After much thought and consideration, we’ve decided to retire Picasa over the coming months in order to focus entirely on a single photo service in Google Photos. We believe we can create a much better experience by focusing on one service that provides more functionality and works across mobile and desktop, rather than divide our efforts across two different products"

So, desktop functionality loses again. I hate this one size fits all approach.
