    MS Word Error

So I couldn't fit the whole error message so I'll put it here: Word could not create the work file. Check the Temp environment variable.
I did this thing where you'd change the name of the users folder with regedit. I had to do a couple things to make it work like deleting the temp account it made and also deleting some old folders with appdata inside them. After that ever since I open word I keep getting the error.

EDIT: I use MS Office Professional Plus 2013

    Hello and welcome!

I'm not sure this is the best forum for MS Office related queries but my guess would be that Word still thinks there are files associated with your previous user folder name.

The best thing would be to do a repair install of Office and it will pick up your new user foldername and sort out the file associations. Go to Programs and Features (via a right click on the Start button); select your Office program and click on Change. This should open up a dialog box where you can ask for the repair operation. (At least it does this on my earlier version of Office and I assume it still will for Office 2013.)

Okay I'll try. I'll mark it as solved if it works

I tried it and I still get the error. I'll try to reinstalling it completely but before that do you have any other ideas?

Looking back at your first post I see that Word suggested you check your environment variables.

Right click on the Start Button and select System. Then select Advanced system settings from the left side items. Then select the Environment variables button at the bottom.

You should see something like this:
    MS Word Error-2016-02-18-2-.png

If %USERPROFILE% is missing or it refers to your old username this could be the problem.

You can check if %USERPROFILE% is correct by typing it into the search box and seeing if it comes up with the right folder for your new username.

When I checked it already says %USERPROFILE% and when I searched %USERPROFILE% it already comes up with the right folder.MS Word Error-capture.png
