    OLD CorelDraw installation weirdness

I have two desktop computers. A new one that came with Windows 10 installed. The other was Windows 7 until I did the upgrade. I tried to install CorelDraw X3 (yeah, it's really old...) on the new computer, but it wouldn't install ... not compatible. But ... I already had CorelDraw X3 installed on the older computer, and now that Win10 is installed there, CorelDraw works just fine.

So...... any way to "force" CorelDraw X3 to install on the new computer?

    That is odd!
Perhaps CorelDraw X3 , because it's quite old, is having compatibility problems with your newer computers hardware.
Someone else had the same problem and gave up:

Successful install of X3 on Win 10

The link noted on the previous message now includes how to install CorelDraw X3 on a Win 10 system using the MSI files on your install CD.
I've not had any problems with the install on a new tablet/laptop or on my old desktop and I've used old X3 files and X7 files saved as X3s and also installed GMS macros.:) Please note that X7 files saved as X3 WILL fail if there are any custom fills and there may be other similar problems with files saved as an older version - but this is not a problem with the install. I had several that failed with fills that I had scanned in.

Have you checked to see if Corel have released any patches for Draw x6? They might fix your problem.

Hi, I'm running Corel 12 suite on pro 64 and it runs fine.
You need to install it as admin though. Initially I installed it on a local user with admin rights.
The after a recent update it did not start anymore from the icons in the start menu getting an error message about a missing ifkernel.dll
Then did a re-install/repair as system admin and now it runs flawless, no problems.
By the way, I did install it on a another hard-drive partition, since the c-drive is a SSD. I also moved "users" to another partition to avoid the SSD to become filled up to much, as descibed by Kari the Finn where you also find how to activate system admin.
