    Calendar has been corrupted

Following the November update (not necessarily caused by it) my Desktop calendar has become drastically corrupted. Among the symptoms are: it closes frequently, it will not let me edit or delete entries, it has replicated past entries in large numbers which I am not able to delete, most options / settings are unavailable ------ in short it is a useless mess.

I wanted to uninstall and re-install, something which often sorts a failing app out ---- but uninstall is not available. Except that it can be done (I have read) via CCleaner. Unfortunately, (a) it is displayed as Mail and Calendar, and I do not want to uninstall Mail (b) I do not know if I am able to uninstall Calendar, will I be able to re-install it?

    Any ideas?

Have a look at the following tutorial. It has a method for uninstalling the Mail and Calendar app. You can later reinstall via the Store app.

    https://www.tenforums.com/tutorials/4...dows-10-a.html

It will uninstall the Mail but you can simply add your accounts back again.

    Calander corrupt

I was just about to start on this when my paper magazine Computer Active arrived, It has major article on a new utility, Fix Win 10, so I installed that first. One option is 'Re-register Store Apps'. Calendar now works OK!

    Calendar corrupt

Oh, dear. Calendar is now corrupt again but worse, a half dozen major apps have become un-launchable or disappeared after using app re-registration in FixWin, including Store itself, People, Camera, Photos, Groove.

    Hi clayto,

Sorry this has come back again. I do not know anything about the FixWin app so cannot comment on whether it has done the job properly or made things worse.

I can point you to the tutorials on here which show you how to do things without the use of 3rd party software.

This is one you should work through:

Just another thought - in case other settings were messed up by FixWin can you go back in time with a system restore point to a time before you ran the repair and start again with the method as described in the tutorial? I'm not sure if you have system restore set up but again there is a tutorial on this here:
