Mail Can't be Opened using the Built-in Administration Account

I can't use any of the panes (calendar, weather, store, etc.) on Windows 10. I receive a message "this app can't open. Mail can't be opened using the built in administration account. How to resolve this issue quickly and reliably?

Hello Otownjer, and welcome to Ten Forums. :)

The built-in "Administrator" account is an elevated account. Windows apps cannot run in an elevated account.

You would need to sign in to a normal account (local or Microsoft) instead.

I can't sign in using my Microsoft account in the settings menu, even when I click on "open with a Microsoft account instead." Nothing happens. (I have a Microsoft account.)

You'll need to sign out of the built-in Administrator account first, and then sign in to your other account.

I used "option 4" to sign out of Windows 10. I then signed in using my other account, but still had the same problem even though I was no longer using the "administrator account." Also, I cannot sign in using my Microsoft account, either: the little blue circle spins and spins, but won't allow me to sign in. I noticed online that other people are experiencing that problem as well. What to do?

See if you area able to sign in to the Store with your Microsoft account while sign in to the local account.

If you are able to, then see if the Mail app opens properly.

Still can't open store, mail, or calendar

When I click on the store pane, the screen turns blue for a second or two and then nothing happens. I can't access the store from my regular account; I can't get to a screen which allows me to enter the information to open using my Microsoft account.

It sounds like you may need to refresh Windows then.
