    Links won't work after last update

    Since the last update my links in my Windows Live email and several other programs won't connect anymore.

    Any suggestions of what I can do to fix this would be welcome.

    Thanks,
    Mary

    Hi, I guess you mean hyperlinks. This is a known issue, and part of the resetting of file (and protocol) associations in the November update, which was implemented for the first time after the manner of installing Windows.

    You need to associate these with your default browser. The best (only) way I found was to use the 'old' control panel (Win key + X, Control Panel), select small icons, then Default Programs, and so choose your default.

    That didn't work, but I found this online and it fixed my hyperlink problem, apparently a lot of people are having the same problem since the last update:

    Reset the browser

    Depending on your Internet browser, you might additionally need to reset the browser. For Internet Explorer, this can be done in Control Panel-> Internet Options. When you use Internet Explorer 6 or lower, you’ll find this option on the Programs tab. For Internet Explorer 7, 8, 9 or 10, you can find this option on the Advanced tab.
    For Firefox, open a Run command and type the following (note the spaces);
    firefox -safe-mode firefox-safe-mode
    In the dialog that pops-up select the option “Reset all user preferences to Firefox defaults” and press “Make Changes and Restart”.

    Glad you solved it- I had exactly your problem, and that's how I solved it as I described. You're describing another way to achieve the same thing.
