    Teamviewer vs Logmein

I am in South Africa and run Win10 Pro 64-bit.

My Father is in the UK and also has Win 10 on his laptop. He is in his mid-nineties and although he can manage basic PC maintenance tasks, e.g. defender scans, and running CCleaner, he often mentions minor issues he has when we are on a Skype call together.

I would like to offer remote assistance to him for when he has problems, and am asking what the easiest way for me to take full (administrator privileges) control of his laptop using either Logmein, or Teamviewer.

But I am concerned about my data usage ... I only have a 4 Mbps ADSL connection, which is soft-capped at 20 GB usage per month .. (the max I can get in the tiny town I live in), and he has a BT Internet uncapped 16 Mbps connection.

So, let's assume I need to take control of his PC using either LogMeIn, or Teamviewer .... My question is:

If take control of his PC from South Africa to perform a major Windows update - whose data allowance is consumed? My measly capped data allowance, or his faster, uncapped data?

I would like to be able to check that he has done all necessary updates, and remotely initiate downloading his updates, if needed, for installation on his PC

His allowance is used for Windows downloads (or any other downloads) you do while controlling his screen.

Your allowance is only used for the (much smaller) amount required to display his screen.

    No need to worry :)
