    Deleted Cortana Shortcut

Yeah, I did that. Now I can not start Cortana on my Windows 10 desktop... Um, what is the target for Cortana? Or how can I make a new Cortana shortcut?

Hi there. Are you speaking about the one on the Taskbar? If so, how did you do that?

What does pressing WinKey/S do for you?

    Hello Razam, :)

In addition to what Tony posted above, you might see if the tutorial below may help to show the Cortana icon (search) on your taskbar again.

I have not had Cortana in the taskbar in the recent past. I went to the two start menu locations that I know of...

    1) C:\Users\...\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs
    2) C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs

and I started messing around. I was in the process of customizing the start screen when I realized I had deleted the Cortana shortcut. How can I recreate it?

By the way, WinKey/S brings up Cortana! Thanks!

Hi Brink, thank you for the info. I guess my real interest at this point is, how can I make shortcuts to the things that are in the C:\Program Files\WindowsApps folder?

Sorry, but you'll have to wait for Brink or others to help you on this. I'm an Insider on build 10576 and don't have access to that folder, nor do I want to take ownership for safety reasons.

    Good luck.

    Razam,

If they're not in Start, then see if using step 2 in the tutorial below to reinstall and re-register your Windows apps may help.

Hi and thanks for your help...

I am embarrassed to say this, but the Cortana shortcut reappeared after I restarted my computer. Usually I just put it to sleep...
