Office 2016 won't dowload and Store wont run.

    Hi there,

My problem and issues are I’m sure win 10 related but I’m at a loss as how to fix.

I have a desk top PC (had 10 now back to 8.1 due to issues described below), a pro 3 (with 10 but still with issues and may have to go back to 8.1) and an office 365 subscription.

When the new office 2016 was released I tried to install from my 365 account, I received error messages to check my internet connection, (my internet is via satellite). I was unable to figure out what the problem was so contacted answer desk and they began trouble shooting.

Over 7 hours of support concluded that yes there was a problem with my internet connection and provided me with a link to download 2016 image and advised I use an alternate connection to download. My wife was able to use her work's internet and downloaded the file. It was duly installed and activated with no issues, both PC and pro, however when I checked for updates (through any office product) I received a new error message; Couldn't stream office. That a file could not be accessed and to check that the source installation was available error code 30183-27 (-2147012889).

At this point I grew frustrated and opted to go back to win 8.1 on the PC and was duly able to download and install office 2016 via my account page and also check for updates, all functioning as intended and expected. I’m happy to keep this PC as 8.1 as it feels stable. Office 2016 version number on 8.1 is 16.0.6001.1034, and on 10 is 16.0.4266.1003

I like windows 10 for the surface pro 3 so decided I can live with the “connection issues” which IMO is better described as a compatibility issue. However, another symptom of this is that the app store fails to run, with an error message about check connection (this was also the case with the desktop pc but is now ok on 8.1). Error code 0x80072EE7.

Now I'm at the point where apps that I require for the pro3 cannot be accessed and this makes the argument for staying with win 10 harder to make. The pro 3 came with 10, though general instability issues led me to do a clean install. I do not appear to have any other connectivity or download issues with any other product except office and store.

I am hoping the great and the good on this forum will be able to suggest new avenues to follow that may help trouble shoot this issue.

Thanks Cluster Head, but no success.

MS support recon there is a proxy setting on my router that windows 10 doesn't like, (though 8.1 does). I suck at networking and so I'm checking with my ISP to see if they can advise, have a helpful engineer who may be able to assist. If I get anywhere will update thread.
