    No ethernet connectivity

One problem, no ethernet connectivity. I'm using WIN10586PESE_x64 ISO V160707 on a Dell XPS 8700[64],Win8.1 [getting ready for a Win10 clean install]. All goes well until no network connectivity after boot. I figured out how to use the PE Network Manager 0.59B3 to establish wifi and that was successful. I tried the ethernet part of PE NetMgr and got nowhere. Then I remembered that when I did the clean install of Win8.1[64] on the desktop, I did not have ethernet connectivity until I installed the Dell update for the Realtek adapter [Realtek 8.18.621.2013]. I immediately got ethernet connectivity. My conclusion at the time was that Win8.1 ISO from the MCT ISO download driver did not support the Dell adapter as delivered [something funny about it?]. If the Win 8.1 adapter driver was later fixed by a Win update, I couldn't get to it at clean install time. Am I running into the same sort of problem using the Win10PESE pkg? Maybe it's something as simple as I don't know how to correctly set up PE NetMgr for my particular environment. Luckily the wifi works, so I have minimal internet connectivity, but I sure would like to have the Realtek adapter working. Any ideas? Any tips to look out for with the PE NetMgr? Pretty vanilla home setup and I have all the requisite IP addresses.

I use the same dell xps8700 system with the same realtek driver as you...
The win10 iso contains the proper driver for wifi network..
open PENetwork (rightclick on lower notification icon, select show GUI, select wifi tab, select router ssid, select connect)

Thanks for the quick reply. I did get the wifi connection to work. My failure was in getting the internet connection to work over the Realtek adapter. I'll try it again and see if I am simply not setting it up correctly. I don't know how to take a screen clip of my settings from the VM, but I'll try to write them down. I guess I thought the wifi connection was using the Broadcomm 802.11n adapter.

Created a Custom Windows 10 Recovery Tools and Bootable Rescue Disk in ISO format
Based on the Win10PESE project found at TheOven.org
It allows you access to any non-working system and provides you a visual means to repair that system.
You would have to download the ISO and then burn it to USB or CD to create a bootable WinPE disk.

Thanks,

Good news and a puzzle. I booted Win10PESE, found two adapters [Broadcomm and Realtek] and Realtek was automatically connected with no changes from me. The Broadcomm was not connected. Fantastic! Now for the puzzle. I tried using FSCapture and that went fine. I saved some PNG files, converted them to PDF files and thought I was saving them to my desktop. I could see them in file explorer, open them and see multiple images in a single PDF file. I thought I was home free. OOPS! not so fast. I hate to say it, but this computer is smarter than I am. It not only knew enough to use the Realtek for a LAN connection, but would let me capture screen clips and convert them to PDF files. Puzzle: After booting to MyDesktop and checking my desktop, I discovered my 'desktop' was not my 'desktop'. You may go 'of course', but how do I save the FSCapture PDF files on my 'virtual desktop' to PDF files on some media that is still there after Win10PESE is shut down?

Either save to the USB stick or save to the PC Harddrive..
PE is booting into memory, so when shut down, it saves nothing within itself...

When working in PE, you would be using it to access or change the PC and the PCs harddrive / files..

    Hi Khyi,

Hope things are ok with you now.

You might be interested in checking this out

Gandalf's Windows 10PE x64 Threshold 2 build 10586 Fall update | Musings of an IT Pro

What caught my eye was the teamviewer statement

"New with this version is the ability to switch from a system account to an admin account. This allows for running apps like Teamviewer which refuse to run on the system account. It starts up into the admin account by default. New apps in this release include Windows Defender, Teamviewer, AOMEI Partition Assistant and more."

I do not know what version of Teamviewer it is running but if it is a later version, maybe this is the trick. I cannot use the old version.

    Cheers

can't get recovery disk to boot

    Hi Khyi,
I was referred to your tool to help me get my windows 10 booting again. I'm stuck at pretty much the first steps, what might I be doing wrong?

    1) downloaded Win10586PESE_x64 ISO v160707 (New)
2)mounted it with Windows 10 file explorer
3)copied all the files to a FAT32 formatted USB stick (also tried same with NTFS formatting)
    4) stuck the stick into my broken Lenovo T400 and it pretty much does not boot the sw. (usb light does flicker)
    5) I could not locate anything in my bios that says secureboot to turn it off.

If I stick my other windows 10 USB recovery stick into same slot then it boots that stick but alas it does not repair my boot problem.
    Thanks in advance
