    Comprehensive admin-tool for laptop

hi, for my twins I want to configure an old laptop of mine. It is and will not only remain my laptop, but also I want to be able to control what they are able to do on the machine (like a sys admin on a network kinda thing). I created a local admin account for myself and user accounts for them. I can go about applying settings and scripts, but is there a comprehensive toolbox around for this that people here have good experiences with? Kind regards, Kan

Hi, have you set up their accounts as child accounts as part of a family group?

    See e.g.
Manage Microsoft Family Settings for Child in Windows 10

    - there are several related tutorials linked below the main text that you should also see.

That gives you a significant degree of control.

You should also ensure you can relatively quickly and painlessly restore the device to a working state in a routine manner when things go wrong. You don't want to be having to do
    - a clean install
    - spending a lot of time seeking technical help and trying things.

So, from the outset, routinely and regularly use 3rd party disk imaging (e.g. Macrium Reflect, Aomei Bakupper etc (free is good enough) - saving image files to removable storage e.g. 1TB drive or better- which you keep safe and secure.

Also configure System Restore- schedule it to run daily. Tutorial available in the searchable Tutorials section.

More if you search e.g. for
    limiting child accounts windows
    from MS, Youtube

Note that if they have access to internet browsers other than Edge you have less control:
    What It Can't Do
The browsing Content Filters only work with Microsoft Edge, and when you turn on this setting, all other browsers are blocked, and only Edge is allowed to run on the computer. Bing’s SafeSearch also turns on when you enable Content Filters, and you can keep your child from accessing other search sites by blocking them using the filter settings.
