You need to save your (text) files from Libre Office as rtf.

Wordpad does not know anything about Libre Office's native formats, or doc, docx (MS Office formats).

However, you should consider moving on from Wordpad.

I use Atlantis Word Processor (rather like old Word) which I got as a giveaway:

and you can get a version of MS Office for $40 for example.

Agreed but I have issues with LO . I cant figure out how to cut copy and paste using libre office. So I can paste it back to wordpad

I will slowly learn LO but at my age, who knows how slow that might be!.

I think it might be best to close out LO until I'm finished with the present work

    I'll try to interpret this...

I think you mean you have created documents in LO, saved them (without considering the file type used) and these now don't open in Wordpad.

If so, simply open each in turn in LO Writer, then save it as .rtf

    Start here to save it:
    Using Libre office-untitled.png

and in the next dialogue choose rtf

I hope you have file extensions visible on your PC - they are not by default.

    Right click open file as.

You could possible remove the association from word or anything at all and just right click or open with whatever. That is what I
    do with my .txt files.

MSworks Word files are not Word files. They have the same ending but is loaded with tons of code and features.

Tsar word processor has been ported, maybe try that.

I have tons of word processes.

Thanks right now I just want Libre office off of my pc I want to go back working with "Wordpad" so when I open something from docs it is in wprd pad.
I have no idea what RTT or rich text means, or how I want to save it...and at my age I'm not going to do well trying to learn this stuff.
I'll be dead by the time I get this stuff in my head.

Thank you so much for your reply.

Do you have documents you created in Libre Office you want to be able to open in Word Pad?
Your post seemed to say you do.

If you really don't know what a file type is, then delete those and recreate them in Wordpad.

    Look:
    Using Libre office-2.jpg

    Wordpad handles files like

    mylifestory.rtf

It does NOT handle files like

    mylifestory.doc
    mylifestory.docx

or the other file types Libre O. Writer produces.

Now, I've given you a lot of help and time... so good luck..
