Looking for a script that turns off all un-used background apps?

I am looking for a way to speed up a set of laptop computer (single use computers for gaming only). They are playing Steam games and nothing major -- nothing graphic intensive, generally older games.

So I am looking a script on startup or something like that will close background apps and anything else (besides the internet and Steam) so when the computer runs there are not other processes slowing it down.

    • These computers already have win 10 home edition (Media creation tool) installed
    • They already have an SSD
    • Upgrading the RAM is not cost effective
    • virtual memory is already changed to a larger size.

Looking for positive hints, ideas and otherwise. I do understand that "get a new computer" seems like the best idea, but in this case - it is not cost effective considering it is for set of laptops I already own. Thanks in advance.

Upgrading the RAM is not cost effective
This is the least expensive and easiest ways to maximize your laptop for gaming without buying a new computer.
Other then that you can run a Clean Boot and leave it that way.

You can try Black Viper, there you can find out what you need and what not.

    Hello @netrate,

I did quite an in depth study of Services and Scheduled Tasks which you can look at here . . .

    > Project: Which Services can be Disabled WITHOUT Drastic Impact.
    > Project: Which Scheduled Tasks can be Disabled WITHOUT Drastic Impact.

    I hope this helps.
