Just installed a Samsung 870 EVO in my system. I was reading about the Magician software and was curious if anyone had it installed on their system and if they thought it was beneficial or not. Curious about the opinions both pro and con.
I have it installed to manage my 970 Evo and 860 Evo on my PC and 960 Evo and 840 Pro on my laptop.
It runs quietly in the background and makes managing the drives a tad easier, especially stuff like over-provisioning, and updating the drive firmware. Also helps with TRIM, which I think Windows 10 does natively.
All in all, its nice to have, but not absolutely essential.
Tons of people use Samsung Magician Software.
It only does the things you tell it to do, so install it, see what it can do, and decide the pros and cons yourself.
It's just a tool (well several tools combined into one program), you can use if you desire.
It's has no inherent dangers, it's clean and comes with no bloatware.
I install it. Tell it not to start up with windows. And run it manually periodically to check for firmware updates.

This software is used to optimize the performance of Samsung SSD disk by its given optimization tools, such as, Performance Benchmark, Diagnostic Scan, Over-Provisioning, etc. Also, you can use it to secure erase data on the disk by its Secure Erase feature or PSID Revert (for factory reset the drive). Another useful feature is to help you update firmware timely, which can avoid Samsung Magician this drive is not supported due to outdate firmware.
