    Windows Explorer Problem

    Windows Explorer Problem-taskbar.png
Windows Explorer keeps unresponding to its icon in Taskbar.
I open WinExpl and it works fine. Then I switch to, say, Google Chrome and that works fine too.
When I want to return to WinExpl, I click its icon in the taskbar but WinExpl will not maximize. It does not matter which other program I have been using, WinExpl simply does not open; I have to close it and open it again.
I read here and there that I am not the only one suffering from this malady but I have not found a single solution. I writing here hoping someone else has experienced the phenomenon and could possibly help me solve the problem.
Thanks to one and all in advance.

Hi, how do you do that? Do you
    - open a new instance?
    - maximise it from a minimised instance from the taskbar
    - something else?

What do you see if you have explorer open and
    a. launch or maximise Chrome
    b. close or maximise Chrome?

I'm wondering if somehow Chrome is maximised and designated as 'on top' (a Windows feature usually only made accessible by some 3rd party tool).

I mentioned Chrome as an example. It does not matter if I try to switch back to WinExpl from Char. Map, Thunderbird, CorelDraw, Faststone Image Viewer, etc., WinExpl. will not respond to my clicking its icon on the taskbar. I must close it and open it again, and again search for the folder I wish to explore. It appears I did not explain myself with the correct terminology in my OP but I'm not too familiar with technology or technical terms. For this I apologise.

Hi, thanks, it's not so much the terminology but trying to picture the exact sequence- for example whether you're dealing solely with maximised windows, or with smaller windows on the screen, for example.

Remember- forum members can't see your PC. Of course, a video would be great, screenshots second best here.
