    Problem with FN key

I recently bought a Toshiba laptop and immediately upgraded to Windows 10.
My FN key is acting as if it is ALWAYS pressed. I can use the F1-F12 buttons for their alternate functions WITHOUT having to press the FN key (ex. I can increase/decrease brightness without pressing the FN key). I want to reverse this, as this current setup denies my use of certain keystrokes such as ALT+F4, requiring me to press ALT+FN+F4.

I guess there is a way to switch the way the FN key works, but I don't know it.
    Thank you for your help.

Have you run Windows Update to check for new drivers. If there aren't any, check Toshiba's website for Windows 10 drivers. You should update most of your drivers to make sure they're running properly.

i have an HP and the option is in the BIOS ..
ie. i use FN + F6/F7/F8 for volume control..
    - if i don't enable it in the BIOS.. i don't have to include FN combination..

    id search in the BIOS.
