    missing apps

just upgraded to windows 10 pro. I goofed and deleted all but one app off the desktop, and then realized I goofed. I'm addicted to free cell and can't get to any games at all.

does anyone have any idea how to go about restoring all those apps??

    Any help appreciated!!!!

Look in Start > All apps
    C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs

Also look in your personal Start menu
    C:\Users\LoginID\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs
LoginID is the user name on your PC (ex: Slartybart)

The shortcuts might be there and you can copy them to your desktop

If you need to recreate the shortcuts, search for the program name (ex: Freecell) and create a shortcut (right click - create shortcut). Tip: Freecell is part of Game Explorer - so you could create a shortcut to that instead of each Game.
The shortcuts might default to being created on the Desktop, so you won't have to move or copy them. If the shortcut does get created in the same folder as the program, just drag it to the desktop.

Another way might be to use a Restore Point, I think that will bring them all back. I'm not certain about Desktop shortcuts though.
See: System Restore Windows 10 - Windows 10 Forums
Don't let the title confuse you - this only uses System Protection to restore a snapshot.

While System Restore restores system and program files, it basically leaves user files untouched. Since the Desktop is inside the user's home folder, changes to the desktop will not be reverted.

Thanks, I suspected that, but I've been testing Win10 for so long, lots of memories have been sidelined.

I struck the System Restore option form my post ... thanks again for the reminder.
