Also not on the list... K-Lite Codec Pack with player.

So I voted for WMP. Add the K-lite codecs, and there's almost nothing it won't play.

    Wenda.
Wenda, I like the K-Lite Codecs too and when you need to play something odd they are about the best. However I have found Windows 7, 8, 8.1 will play a lot of common video and audio formats add VLC and you have the leftover formats like .MKV and MP4 files just to name two. With VLC you can play most of the common stuff out there without the need to install a whole codec pack. I guess I am doing the "less is more" now-a-days. :)

Me too. As far as possible I try to use the bundled software.

For me it has to be VLC. It is not on the list. So, my second best will be Winamp.

    Foobar2000.
Before that, I used Winamp. What converted me back then was that Winamp was running sluggishly on - now sold (a long time ago) - XP laptop (Pentium M 1.7GHz, 1GB RAM). When I installed foobar, it ran smoothly and helped other applications running more smoothly. Since then, I've stuck with it and I love as much as I did the first time I used it. Many people use it because it's extremely customizable but for me, that's just secondary. It's extremely versatile what format it can play and if it doesn't play off the hand, there will be a plugin somewhere to be able to do so (exemple: .ape (lossless format)).

Winamp here. Used WMP for a loooooong time but when I started using flac went to Winamp and never looked back. Like VLC too but only use it for video and movies now.

    Hi.
Seems mine isn't on the list.
Using JetAudio for years. But what matters is the audio processing. I found a free app from viper's audio named Viper4windows which has rich audio tweaking for movies, audio, and freestyle setting.

I usually use Google Play Music in the browser, but when I do local only, I love the Zune software. It's just gorgeous.

    I prefer Winamp over WMP.
