Netflix App Won't run in Windows 10 Home

    I was also having issues with Netflix app.. I was however able to watch Netflix through the edge browser.
    I dug a little deeper and reinstalled Silverlight because the Netflix app is designed to use Silverlight. I did get a better response from the Netflix app at this point, but it still would not play. It would get to a 21% on the buffering gui and hangup every time. I continued to try to and find a solution to the problem and came across this:

    Media Feature Pack for N and KN versions of Windows 10 KB3010081

    I installed this media feature pack which contains the windows media player. this pack also contained the codecs needed to play certain videos on your system and it has also fixed my Netflix app. I do not know if this will work in your situation but it has fixed my streaming video problems.

    I am having exactly the same problem with even the same laptop! I am running Win10 pro on it, and on an external HDMI monitor it only shows a black screen with working sound. When I am only using my laptop display, the app does work. I just did a fresh installation of Win10, but unfortunately that did not fix the issue either. I discovered that it does work in Chrome on the external display, but not in Edge (While everything works on the build-in display). I hope they will fix this soon because I prefer the Netflix app over the website.

    Netflix works fine for me on my Toshiba both in Edge Browser and Toshiba own player and I don't have Silverlight installed either,
    What have I got installed that I have had no trouble that other members have had

    Just installed the Anniversary update to Win 10, and Netflix no longer runs. Same symptoms as my very first post on this thread.

    Yea, I'm getting the same issue -

    Anniversary update and now Netflix just bombs out.

    Causing my daughter to blame me for updating stuff !

    I know this thread is old but I recently bought a laptop and had the same issue. I tried finding a solution with no luck. I was finally able to get Netflix to work after I looked up the app on the Microsoft Store. I clicked install and after it installed I launched it and now it works flawlessly. Now when I bring up the app on the store there's no longer an install link, it now says Wish List.
