Didn't work here. Window still just popped up for a second and then disappeared. Thanks for the try though, it is appreciated.

There doesn't seem to be an "In Place" install if booting from the Windows 10 disc. So that route is out. It is either start fresh or no install.

Lastly, why was my link above changed? Did I post something I shouldn't have? It was an official Microsoft link....

    Try clearing AppData Cache
    C:\Users\Matt\AppData\Local\Packages
Click the app you need to fix my case was Windows Store so
Microsoft.WindowsStore_8wekyb3d8bbwe was the folder I opened
    Went to LocalCache\PerUserCache
    deleted all files except index
Restart program you was having problems with.
That manually clears LocalCache from that App, so if it crashes it won't try to go back to that crashed state.

Windows store closed itself multiple times when I was searching in it.

Can you explain, have you tried to clear AppData Cache yet?

No, I reinstalled Windows 7 back until Windows 10 is properly fixed.
Windows 10 is good ,there is no doubt about that but still it needs some polishing.

    @Mumbai

Check your Time Zone on the Time and Date settings. You might not be in the correct time zone.

I can change the time zone in windows 10 but it will make some issues in task scheduler and also the event viewer generates some error messages. this is why I never try any computer program ,specially a complex one right after it's launched because they have issues and it takes days to fix, but I trusted Microsoft and decided to make the windows 10 as an exception but I was right ,it has issues too. it's true windows 10 is quite good, specially in terms of resource handling but I feel like it needs some polishing. I was early debating with myself whether keep windows 10 or not and then decided to stay with windows 10 but after researching more ,I decided to postpone windows 10 for few months or at least the issues are resolved.

windows store app crashed many times when searching for something , cortana has few bugs too, can't play GTA V and press S,Q ,arrow keys because then it minimizes , Q is for cortana, arrows keys for notification etc.. gaming performance isn't that awesome compared with windows 7 , windows 10 needs more VRAM and it's a bad news for those who have limited VRAM , of course if someone has a powerful PC, I am sure it's not something to bother but even for them there is no motivation factor for upgrading if they are gamers , because there is no significant performance gain and in some games like GTA V, Windows 7 performs better, I am sure it will change in future when DirectX12 games are available but so far there is no directx12 games other than a benchmark software.

Please read my post #44 again. I explained in detail how to do the "Upgrade Reinstall".

I did, but I was referring to the ability to boot from the CD and do a repair install over the current version. I was hoping it would correct any errors, I have now reinstalled 10 twice the way you outlined above. Still experiencing the same issue.

I wish I could figure out the difference between my registry and the registry of a new profile, or figure out a way to import my program licenses, settings and so forth into a new profile. I really want to use Cortana!

I finally bit the bullet, spent 3 hours collecting all of my software an licenses, backed up some stuff, and did a clean reinstall. Now almost everything works except I am getting weird permission changes on some folders, photo app just closes almost instantly and the photo plus the weather tile will not update. They are dead tiles, not live.

    Any idea here?
