I can confirm that after uninstalling and deleting the driver software, and restarting, Windows 10 installed driver version 8.35.716.2014 upon the restart.
No issues all afternoon.

Has anyone tried uninstalling the driver from Device Manager and then restarting pretty much straight away? The driver Windows 10 installs upon restart seems stable enough so far...
I can confirm my "recipe" has failed, even after also trying the suggestion
seen above.
I have just put my laptop to sleep and emptied the washing machine. Upon my return my ethernet works after I woke my laptop up.

Sorry, can confirm that you should download the Windows 8 version of the driver.
Update.
Just experienced it not even recognising the ethernet cable was plugged in. Had to disable and then re-enable it in network settings.
Still, this driver version seems to work the best...
