have turned it off on the surface and it seems to have worked! yay. I will be honest - I am not sure how I feel that windows can read my texts and send them to another device. Seems a bit invasive....

I still dont have cortana. lord knows how to get it working. I cant change the speech region to anything other than ENG US (everything else is set to UK) and when I try download the speech pack it...

How do I do that?
I am not that savvy when it comes to computers I am afraid!

cortana says its been disabled due to company policy on my laptop. Have no idea why. Not sure what the policy is.
