This is worth a try, let us know what happens.
As much as it sucks to do, I would still try a complete reinstall of the system if you cannot wait for a possible patch. This will wipe out all traces of Windows 7 from the pc. The downside to this...
I thought it was that we all upgraded from Windows 7, but that does not seem to be the cause, so I do not know.
For me, the reset uninstalled all of my programs, but kept all of my personal files, therefore this is a time-consuming option, but it seemed to work for me. Once your pc reloads from a reset, it is...
Yes, I am glad it has worked, hopefully there was something in this forum that can help others with this problem. Thank you all for your help!
It did for me, I didn't even need a complete reinstall, just a reset while keeping personal files. Though this worked for me it appears that it hasn't worked for others.
This is probably a better idea than a complete reinstall. I am impatient so I went ahead and did it, but Microsoft might come out with an update in a few days that will solve this problem.
Yes, I meant recovery mode. You did that and it didn't work? Did you reset by having it remove all of your apps? I did that, and it worked for me afterwards. Maybe you need a complete reinstall...
I can confirm that resetting your computer solves the problem. Of course, this is a time consuming process but if you deem it worth the time, it does work.
So this is a known bug with previously Windows 7 users? Hopefully that means there is an update on its way to fix it because I have seen my friend use Cortana (he had Windows 8.1) and I really want...
I am having the same problem as you, I even have made my own forum post about this with some help. Though nothing anyone suggested in my forum post worked for me, maybe it would work for you:

I found another forum post, it seems I am not the only one having these issues:
I tried one of the fixes mentioned:

I have tried both of these steps already and still, when I click "Sign in with a Microsoft Account instead," nothing happens, I believe this can be seen in the video I posted. Thanks for the...
I looked at the tutorial on how to switch to a Microsoft account instead of a local account. I have actually already tried this and mentioned somewhere before in this forum post. When I get to step...
A friend of mine who also recently updated to Windows 10 also suggested running wsreset.exe I did that, and it appeared to fix nothing at all. I am off of my desktop for now but I will try your...
I made a short video demonstrating my problem so it can be visually seen. I know the quality of it is poor, but it should get the point across.
Windows 10 Problem - YouTube
Already did, and still, nothing happens, all those other problems I mentioned exist still as well.
Okay, this time it loaded all of my apps. However, only the apps that I have installed from Windows 7 show up. Nothing I have tried to install in the store appears in that area.
I do not see any apps listed. I am coming from Windows 7 so that may be because I actually have no apps installed.
I just downloaded Windows 10 yesterday and I am encountering a problem with the Microsoft Store. I am trying to download a few apps. When I am on the app page, I click the "Free" button, which I...
