It sounds more like a faulty Hard drive than a Windows 10 issue to me.
Is there any chance you could make a dump of your system eventlog and post it so we can see if it logs any hard drive errors?

Hi.
I'm having a problem with windows 10, it keeps resetting my default apps for watching videos and listening to music.
I want Windows Media PLayer to be my default app for all of these...
Start the media creaton tool again and check the destination folder, afterwards you can burn the .iso to a disk and install from that
Cortana is not avaliable in my language, and therfore i can not turn it on, even though i can speak english just fine.
Have your followed the steps and suggestions posted?
If so what are the results of reinstalling?
UPDATE:
I reinstalled Windows 10, and everything seems to work fine now.
Thanks again for all your help
I have less than 15 applications installed, so i should not have issues with hard limit
The issue is not only with Office, but almost every app i install. On my laptop i dont have the issue and Windows have been installed the same way on both platforms, the only difference being that my...

They should show up under a search if they are in a folder. Its much quicker to search for the app than having to navigate to it
UPDATE:
I can confirm that this problem does not exicst on my laptop wich i just upgaded and did a clean install on, so it must be tied to a corrupt registry.
Is there any chance of doing a...
I can find the exe file by typing out the the name and the extension like so: outlook.exe
Maybe you can identify them by partition size? Windows 10 recovery partition seems to be 450Mb
Yes all Office programs show up in the folder
No problem. You have to make sure your pc was born with windows 8.1 and not 8, otherwise your key wont work
Could be, i have another PC installing Windows 10 ATM i will test if it works on that
It shows once you start typing
For Windows 8.1: Create installation media for Windows 8.1 - Windows Help
for some reason i can't find one for Windows 8.0
I do see a Microsoft office, thanks fort pointing that out, i do however not see them from searching
Yeah, it was activated both times
If you can get your hands on a Windows 8 or 8.1 depending on your pc's original OS you can install it from the iso, it will load your windows 8 key into the install automatically
From disk, theres nothing wierd about the installation... efter the upgrade i deleted all disk partitions and did a clean install.
Nothing is from another install, everything is clean
You got it exactly right.
I'm not a big fan of upgraded OS, so i did a clean install after the upgrade.
So the OS and the programs are ALL a clean install
Yes everything is clean installed
