okay windows has whizzed away and has re partitioned my drive. there is no longer an O:, local disc is now F:
it has created a partition for the system reserve at 500mb and formatted the hdd
windows has changed the partitions to
1 sys reserve 500 mb
2 698.1 gb but its still throwing this error at me
okay so just into the setup, and now ive got "we couldnt install windows in the location you chose. 0x80300001"
i think i just beat you to it
okay scratch that post, ive now got a clean iso sitting in my O: drive, what next?
this tech bench is just sitting there loading and as i said before i cant use the microsoft tool, so many missing extensions its rediculous
yep, its a 720gb ssd, I labeled it O: the table is msDOs the Partition is NTFS and the size is around 690
thats what i thought, but theres no other disk?
which leads me back to my original presumption that theres a partition error?
maybe...
for some reason the winPESE only registers 149mb of space
@NavyLCDR
I can't download the .iso on the kyhi boot as theres not enough space,
my official windows disc refuses to read,
I can't extract the files from the iso and the send them across using...
Fafhrd Nope the disc wont read.
The partition is basically the whole drive around 690gb i believe.
Sorry to hear about your laptop, I hope it's not contagious ;)
why do i need to run recuva?
The drive is blank
ntfs part. created, still no difference though. Im now assuming that disc is buggered as its not working at all
wow, thanks for the quick response, ill try creating a new ntfc partition.
What do I do about this disc/iso problem though?
the virtual drive X: only has 157MB total, so I split open the iso, grabbed the source and setup files as you said and repeated the process of sending them over to the laptop, but unfortunately the...
okay heres whats happened:
the kyhi disc runs and boots fine, for some reason the windows official disc wont read at all, not even registering as a disk in the drive *sigh*
Ive used AOMEI to check...
am trying this now will let you know the results.
Thanks for all your help people ^.^
f12.
I have the boot order as;
1. ODD
2. USB
3. Network
4. HDD
But I HAD to do that to run the GPL disc in the first place so I dont see the issue. Legacy is on under boot/keyboard.
Yes legacy is on [underboot/keyboard settings in bios?], i cant check the POST because of a toshiba splash that I can only disable by enabling 'fastboot' which in turn disables the ablility to boot...
:( dont have one. am working on it. the thing is that the dvd drive runs everything else alright. the GParted disc loads fine, cant really try anything else without an os.
I'm going to try a GPT...
the disc has been checked on 2 other pcs and works fine, its an officiaol one that i bought.
Ive also created 2 other boot discs for windows 10, one made with my existing windows 10 pc and the other...
Therein lies the problem, on boot the windows 10 disc just whirrs for ages and then laptop gives up and tries to boot via other methods. I was told this was due to the lack of available space (as I...
