In my case, Repair provided no improvement. Reset did seem to solve the issues.

Just prepare to lose existing settings, history, etc.

Apparent success and the repair and reset options are present for Edge if I continue to have issues,

At about 36 hours, I tried Ctrl-Alt-Del and then just powered off. When powered on, showed "attempting to recover installation".

Then, "working on updates 30%...

Back to where I was two days...

After download hung at 94 %, I found it restricted by the time window. Had never seen this before. I think I just extended the time from 7p to 11p.
