I tried running the HDD LLF tool yesterday but it didn't do any progress. Lots of I/O errors while staying at 0% with a nonexistent read/write speed.
I'm 99% sure the drive is dead, though I am...
I cannot specify the warning from Ashampoo as I haven't been able to recreate it. My desktop is really finicky when it comes to recognizing the HDD. The warning as far as I remember was a general...
The external HDD is a Seagate Backup Plus Slim 1TB.
Damage-wise, I have dropped it once before where I got concerned. Other damage would be disconnecting it without the safe disconnect procedure...
Does it seem likely that I will be able to recover what is important, and then format it to get it back into working condition?
I am currently scanning the disk via Windows, as it prompts me to when it gets recognized properly.
Currently trying to copy 4,28 MB worth of files but Windows doesn't seem to figure out how long it...
Hey!
I've had this external HDD for close to a year, and to be fair I haven't been as careful with it as I should have been. The HDD has "died" on me two times earlier, this being my third time...
Yeah I definitely prefer cakes over SSD's, they smell a lot better out of the oven haha :chuckle:
Thank you for the tip though, I'll bookmark their website!
I managed to revive the SSD by baking it in the oven for 8 minutes at 385F.. :really:
I'll definitely bookmark Les Tokar's website for when I'm buying a new one in the future.
And thank you so...
Hey!
My SSD died earlier today, and I'm left trying to figure out what to do with my computer now that it doesn't have an OS. Is there an easy way to install preferably Windows 7 on my remaining HDD...
The SSD is definitely dead.
Thanks for the help anyway, I really appreciate it!
I might be able to test the SSD on another computer later, so I'll definitely see what I can do.
Is there anything I can do in the meantime?
Edit; this post talks about the use of 'diskpart' to...
Under the 'boot' tab in the BIOS I can choose [UEFI] or [LEGACY+UEFI], changing them doesn't make a difference I'm afraid.
When clicking the boot options, ex; 'Boot Option #1' to rearrange the...
Hey!
I'm trying to figure out if my SSD has died as I suddenly got an error saying 'reboot and select proper boot device windows 10' earlier today. Last time I had this error it was because of me...
I have updated my specs
And that's unfortunate, but I guess I'll manage without it
Thanks again (:
Oh wow I managed to misspell it completely, too many numbers on my mind while writing this apparentlyy
I meant to say I have the i7 6800K, but after all I'm guessing it has the iGPU as well?
I have upgraded to a i7 2800K recently, I guess I have to update my specs, my bad (:
Edit; and I apparently don't have a monitor port on my mobo either, so I'm guessing iGPU wouldn't work.
A friend of mine told me I could borrow his old 5870 until I'd get a new GPU, which solved the issue completely.
Considering my 7950 card was basically dead, and I vaguely remembered something...
The graphics card is probably over 4 years old, so I doubt I'd get a replacement. I guess I'll have to buy a new one once I get the money.
Edit; I got loads of new PC parts, but the GPU wasn't one...
Hey!
After a ca. a week having new PC parts my computer froze, with vertical coloured lines on both monitors, with a repeating buzzing sound. After hitting the reset button the computer booted...
Thank you again! I think I got all information I need or more, so I'll mark the thread as solved. (:
Thank you for the warnings AveYo!
So I've connected the sub-woofer as you told me to, I've tried both the first and second method. The sub-woofer still works as a center speaker, not a sub-woofer in...
Do you think I could only power the speakers instead of the sub-woofer instead?
I can definitely get the sub-woofer to work, but it's recognized as a middle speaker, not a sub-woofer in the Realtek HD Sound Manager software, so it won't work as a sub-woofer just yet. Any...
I don't think I have a receiver just laying around, but wouldn't the computer work as a receiver? Since when I'm connecting the sub-woofer to the orange port, it is recognized as a sub-woofer/middle...
I don't really know what I'm doing, so I definitely have to study more, wouldn't want the magic smoke to escape!
So just to clear things up, is there no way to get the sub-woofer working, even...
