Yeah, best thing I can suggest is to just temporarily set your clock forward, arrange the start menu how you like, then set it back. You'll be prevented from making any changes until the real time...
It does the same thing if you do NTP sync it... it's just faster to set the clock manually than wait for it to sync. I did test that.
FWIW, I did try a couple VMs where I had it online, but maybe...
OK, so try this in a VM...
Don't have a network connection during the initial setup (like I said, if it syncs with NTP before you sign in for the first time, the issue won't happen)
Otherwise...
Did you test a brand new clean install of 1703? What source did you use? I'm using the MSDN ISO.
OK, I just tested in a brand new VM.
Installed it with default settings, unpinned the default pins, pinned my own stuff.
Changed clock backwards 5 minutes, can confirm it breaks.
Shutdown VM...
Right... Washington, not California, my bad. Same timezone though.
OK, so I tested this some more - it actually has nothing to do with timezones, simply changing the clock backwards causes the...
This might sound like a weird issue, but I can confirm it's not just me, and an inherent problem in the 1703 installation (at least using the MDSN ISO with Windows 10 Pro x64 selected.)
Tried it...
Wow... yeah sheesh, what's the whole point of Group Policy if it won't even work anymore? We're using Windows 10 Enterprise and joining a Windows domain, that's basically the whole point! I can...
It actually worked fine in 1607 for me, 1703 is what broke it.
Are you using Group Policy? The setting you want is mentioned in my first post... try that and see what happens. I would advise NOT...
After looking around some more, it seems the CU completely changed how the lockscreen is handled.

I can confirm it is definitely NOT the graphics driver.
I tried this in VMWare, made the VM fullscreen and gave it both of my monitors. VMWare uses its OWN graphics drivers as part of VMWare...
What worked was the default spacing of the icons. Creator's Update probably changed something under the hood that made it wacky. "All of those icons" are not the problem, the problem is the spacing...
I don't know what you're talking about. It's always worked in the previous versions of Windows 10. I'm looking for an actual solution, not criticism.
Neither of those. I'm just trying to get the icons to have their normal spacing like you can see when the taskbar is put on both monitors.
And yes I know I have a lot of icons, that's not the...
Yes it's the same on both.
Both are 1920x1080. No scaling.
Setting a custom scaling "helps" but then it screws everything else up. I type in 105% and it assumes that's equal to 175%... stupid...
Hey guys,
This is a strange one. Yes, I know my desktop is messy. But that's not really the point.
I made a short 1-minute video showing the problem, and it's much easier to show that way...
Hey guys,
So I have a GPO set for our workplace, and have been using this since the original RTM build of Windows 10 back in 2015.
It worked fine on all versions up until the Creator's Update,...
Hmm, that seems to have worked for the most part, but it still has that Windows Defender Security Center in the start menu that basically does nothing now - it doesn't even open saying "this app is...
That screenshot looks like pre-CU, though. I'll give it a try, just saying.
By Store I assume you mean Metro. I know they're officially called "Modern" or "UWP" now, but same idea. Whether or not it's actually installed/purchased through the store is irrelevant, they use...
The whole point was I wanted to MOVE the store apps into a folder, like how 3D Builder is now in Windows Accessories and NOT in the list on its own. :(
So is 3D Builder just "special"?
Interesting. Can I then delete the regular shortcut so that it ONLY shows up in that folder?
No, I get that, but am I able to put other Metro apps into a folder like that? I want them folderized in the LIST view, not the pin view.
Not quite what I was after, but nice to know anyway.

I made one of those folders with Calculator and Calendar, but see "3D Builder" which I have highlighted? That's one of the...
