Slow boot time with M.2 NVME SSD - help needed with trace analysis

I have Windows 10 21H2 installed on a Samsung 970 EVO M.2 NVME SSD, and my boot times are not what I would expect from this setup--typically 30 to 50 seconds from cold start to lock screen. I've been troubleshooting this for a while and I've tried everything in the BIOS (board is ASUS Z390-E) that I can think of, like disabling any unnecessary features (Bluetooth/WiFi/audio) and choosing the faster memory check options. I've also tried eliminating all startup programs but that doesn't make any difference versus having the few programs I want turned on for startup.

I've seen a few other people on these forums (Booting from m.2 drive is much slower than it should be, Boot Time painfully slow on WD m.2 SSD Drive) post their boot traces so I logged a boot trace myself, but I don't know where to begin with identifying any issues in the analyzer. Would appreciate anyone with more knowledge than myself taking a look at the trace:

    Hello there!

    Welcome to Windows Ten Forums!

Obviously, that boot time is unacceptable.

Did you build this system yourself?

I have always found it difficult to interpret the data from the WPA. However, I see quite a bit of activity on many of those tracings.
Let's call in our resident expert @zinou who really knows this tool. Please be patient.

In the meantime, could you please post your entire hardware and software configuration?

    Thanks.

Motherboard: ASUS ROG STRIX Z390-E GAMING
    CPU: Intel i7-8700k
Memory: CORSAIR Vengeance RGB Pro 16GB DDR4 DRAM 3000 (CMW16GX4M2C3000C15)
GPU: MSI RTX 2080 SUPER Gaming X Trio
Boot SSD: Samsung SSD 970 EVO NVMe (500GB)
Additional SSD: Samsung SSD 970 EVO NVMe (1TB)
Additional Drive: Seagate FireCuda 2TB Solid State Hybrid Drive (ST2000DX002)

    Some questions -

What software is installed, besides the OS?
Have you tried with just the boot SSD and no other storage devices attached?

Maybe it's best to start with the simplest configuration.
For example, One boot device and just the W10 OS.

    Is the CPU Overclocked?
If so, go back to stock settings.

Of these applications, I normally just have SteelSeries GG, Plex, NVIDIA Broadcast, Afterburner, Everything, Ear Trumpet, and Argus Monitor enabled to run on startup.

In my BIOS boot order settings I have it set only to look at my SSD with the OS, no other drives are listed in the boot order.

I do normally have my CPU overclocked to 4900 MHz. I just timed a cold boot with my CPU set to stock speed and voltage, SATA ports disabled (so the HDD is disconnected), all USB devices unplugged, and all startup programs disabled. This dropped my time from power-on to lock screen only down to 25 seconds--I think it should be faster than that...

Later today I can test with the secondary SSD removed from the motherboard to see if that will do anything different.

    OK, thanks.

I would disable these from running on startup, just temporarily and retest your boot time.

SteelSeries GG, Plex, NVIDIA Broadcast, Everything, Ear Trumpet, and Argus Monitor.

What AV and FW are you using?

I just use Windows Defender anti-virus/firewall.

    That's just fine, thanks.

I would like to know the difference in startup time, as per my post above.

In the above test that got my boot time down to 25 seconds I did disable those startup programs among the other steps I took like unplugging USB devices and resetting my CPU clock.

    1. So really no difference in boot time by disabling those programs, correct?
    2. How much of the capacity of the Boot Samsung SSD 970 EVO NVMe (500GB) is left?
    3. Is Windows 10 managing your memory paging?
    4. I see that you are using a Intel i7-8700k CPU, but only 16GB of RAM - ever consider 32 GB total?

    Thanks.
