    how to disable MUSIC search


    Hi all, occassionally my PC slows down and in the process viewer I can see MUSIC taking good share of CPU time. I have a lot of music on my disc, but I do not want Win10 cares about as I play it and manage with different programs. How do I disable this unwanted help from Win10?

    Hi,
    If you go into Settings and then Privacy
    Scroll down to Background Apps and then look for Groove
    Toggle the switch to off

    Not certain, but i think this background activity is to do with the new playlist feature which updates in the background quite often

    What do you mean, you saw something in task manager that is 'hurting' your CPU or something?

    Hi WebbyLigth0. I launched processexplorer from Sysinternals and it listed MUSIC taking about 18-20 percents CPU. I tried paulsalter's suggestion and I shall see whether there will be any effect. Thx for reply
