This should be in the system specs where everyone can see them, not just those who see this post.

But with 4 GB RAM a decent size pagefile is more or less essential. 200-800 MB is too small. I would set an initial size of 4 GB and the maximum twice that but it seems disk space is a problem. A system managed pagefile initially at 704 MB can at least expand to twice that if necessary. The important thing is the size of the pagefile, not how much is used.

should I change the initial size to lets say, 900MB and the maximum size to 1000MB and see what happens?

For several versions of Windows the recommended [by Microsoft in Help] manual/custom setting was for 1.5 times the physical RAM [WinXP and newer] or 2.5 times the physical RAM [Win2000/ME and earlier] unless running memory intensive programs such as video editing, large spreadsheets, large databases, etc. It's always worked well for me to set both numbers to the same. I haven't located the same Help file in Win10 yet, been relying more on the 'net to find things.

Paging file is used to hold minimized windows data. Basically this data will be loaded into memory IF you have it. This is why when your system has more memory it seems faster. Read & write access is way faster to memory than your HD or SSD.
