task manager cpu speed
Just this past month my cpu speed is down to around 1.5GHz but it used to be around 2.5GHz. My computer is also slower. Does anyone know why this is and how to solve this issue?

That is called SpeedStep. Your maximum speed is 2,41 GHz, as shown on your screenshot.
You can run some CPU demanding task, like a video and your CPU speed should increase.
If you want your CPU to run at max all the time, you can set min processor state to 100%.

The first most obvious thing to check is that you haven't accidentally switched to a low power Power Plan. See these tutorials:

Having said that, occasionally my laptop gets confused if I've been running it for a few weeks without a reboot. I hibernate it while not in use and run it plugged in when the battery gets low. Sometimes it gets stuck at a low CPU clock speed which no amount of changing power plan settings or removing/reinserting the power lead will fix. A reboot is then required to get it back up to full speed.
I have a pc - Acer Aspire Xc-603 Intel Pentium
