Windows 10 High CPU Usage After Update

    Well, now, think about it for a moment. Both of these rely on the PC being booted up and someone logging on. Unless you've done away with the password, Prey etc are never going to run. So how much value are either?

    Further: location identification is only accurate to within a couple of houses or so if using Wifi. Ethernet gives you the server location.

    If the thief extracts the disk and examines it on another PC, they never need to boot up yours with that disk in it.

    Well, since I've always hibernate my pc i'm always logged on. If the thief powers up my computer and my computer finds an unprotected wifi, or any familiar SSID I should be able to locate it. But there's a very slim change my computer will connect to internet... If prey's not hogging my resources like the last time, I want to be able to count on that slim change if and when the worst happens.

    Good idea.. alas with SSDs hibernation is discouraged.. and in terms of time, not really much of an advantage.
