It depends on hardware. My old laptop takes nearer 8 hours for a full Macrium image & verify, with its slow disk and slow USB port (I'm not even sure it's as recent as USB 2, let alone USB 3)
Actually it was only 6 hours, but it's still a case of leaving it to run overnight.
I was a good reminder for me to do a backup though.

I think MR7 started weirding out around the time of the latest Win10 CU. My C drives (w/ Win10) is taking exponentially longer to merge the previous incremental with the 00-00 mrimg file.

With speed of modern computers and I/O devices there's really no reason to avoid taking backups -- so many problems could be avoided if people imaged their systems regularly.

I think it's worth labouring this point -- backing up your OS these days can really be done in a few minutes so there is 100% NO EXCUSE for not doing it.
If your OS is say on an SSD a backup will take for an average system only...
