Fix required for slow startup of windows 10

I had windows 7 on my PC with i3 processor and 4GB RAM. Recently I upgraded to a total of 8GB RAM and an NVIDIA GT730 - 2GB graphics card. I still had windows 7 on it. After this hardware upgrade, my windows 7 booted up even faster, in 40 seconds or so. I then upgraded to windows 10. Eversince that, my bootup time has gone up to more than 4 minutes. I have checked for any startup programs in task manager that may be slowing down and I disabled some of third party apps too like adobe updater, etc. which were not related to microsoft or any hardware. I also enabled my fastboot but the situation is more or less the same. Please help.

Delete prefetch, temp and %temp% files. You can also run CCleaner software to delete the temp files. Go to msconfig and disable all the services except the microsoft one and restart the system.

I've been using CCleaner and disk cleanup regularly for more than 5 years now. I deleted the prefetch files but it did not make a difference. Is disabling non Microsoft services safe? I hope I don't disable any hardware..

It doesnt make any difference when you disable non microsoft services. It will not disable any hardware on your computer.

Switching to SSD from HDD will improve your system performance.

I can't afford to buy a new hard drive right now.

You could try disabling in Task manager under Start up tab.

I disabled all non Microsoft services using the msconfig option.

Moreover, disabling my nvidia service resulted in stretched screen after restart which remained as it is until I re enabled this service.

The problem did not solve at all. I'm still having slow startup.
