Without this last stap my search worked again! A second restart was needed after the sfc /scannow I guess. I am happy it's fixed now. Hopefully it wont break again.

    Thank you again Davidhk

Good news that Search is now working.
I hate to be bearer of bad news, but................
Have you run sfc /scannow again to make sure no corrupt files that are unable to repair ?

You got me worried for a sec :P
But luckely it says "Windows Resource Protection did not find any integrity violations.", So nothing is corrupted for now and search is working ;D
Hoping it will stay like this.

    Thank you again

I had this issue with "Windows Resource Protection found corrupt files but was unable to fix some of them. "

I also had to download the iso and ran

    Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth /Source:wim:H:\sources\install.wim:1 /limitaccess

    it said it completed successfully.

I then ran sfc /scannow and it had the errors and cannot fix them again.

    any ideas?

    EDIT:

I rebooted and re-ran sfc /scannow and all looks good. I get:

Windows Resource Protection did not find any integrity violations.

Hi. I am trying this on a Surface Pro 3.

When I run "dism /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth" it is taking a while. So far about an hour and is on 40%. How long could it take. Last time on another machine less than an hour.

    thanks

    Edit:

After canceling, restarting, and trying it a couple of times, I wound up using the other method with the download.

    Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth /Source:wim:H:\sources\install.wim:1 /limitaccess

    It worked.

    SFC cannot fix corrupted files

I know this is an old thread but want to say thankyou for the tutorial. I have several times been directed to use Dism /online etc. without the .exe and keep getting blanked. This WORKED. Again many thanks. Operation completed successfully.

    Excellent News.

There are Threads 145,092 - Posts 2,186,554 [ at the time of writing ] on this forum, all of which are searchable. Just because a thread/post is old, it does NOT invalidate the advice and methods. I am always searching for threads/posts relating to a members problems in order to help them resolve their issues.

It is always nice to know when they have helped members, so thanks for your Post.
